Why Technology is Addictive…

Over the last ten days (in which, my readers may have noticed, there have been no posts), I have been busy as a beaver building a dam.

I have been building working on my university projects, using a Tor and Your-Freedom with OpenVPN to bypass my universities horribly fascist firewalled prock-sy, and testing out new versions of Linux.

Which suddenly brought a point home to me – all my work is in front of a computer. I don’t play video games, I don’t do anything that is classically the definition of fun, but nevertheless, I have been sitting in front of my laptop nearly nonstop.

Some psychologists I know (my parents are doctors) think that technology is addictive. I don’t disagree. But it’s not addictive because it leverages the brain chemistry changes as drugs do, it’s addictive because it’s a different way of thinking.

I’ll leave you to ponder. Think.

nice pastime….. especially the one where u tell the rest of the world how to setup YourFreedom when your own hostel mate is asking round the corner[of ur corridor] to giv a hint of how to set it up when u’re busy ‘as a beaver building a dam’! πŸ˜› well, that hostelmate set it up himself u know. but he must have read how to do it off ur blog![sarcasm droooooling heavily]
so… hmmm… u are a victim of addiction of technology?! sad… addiction is an addiction. no talk on whether it changes ur brain chemistry or brain physics. give some time to chussify with other terrrestrial beings. it really helps u feel human. πŸ˜›
enough. sorry for disturbing. but i did include some compliments to ur blog at the top! well, consider them compliments if they’re not. πŸ˜€
    Allah hafiz

@ muneeeeb: I did tell you as much as I said on the blog -.- In fact, I pasted the whole post to you in IRC. Have logs to prove it… πŸ™‚
LOL. It’s just that reading something makes it look a lot more detailed, even if it isn’t.
As for the addictive part, yeah. I am addicted to it – a bit, at least πŸ™‚
And the word about no hair gets along fast, does it not? :p Cheers!
